Counsellor and Hypnotherapist

ana.jpeg

Luisa (they/them) is a counsellor and hypnotherapist working from their West End office in Brisbane and online.

A queer, Indigenous political refugee, Luisa grew up in El Salvador during its civil war and resettled in Australia following ethnic persecution. This lived experience of displacement and survival gives them a deep, personal understanding of the psychological weight of systemic injustice — and shapes the care and attentiveness they bring to every client. Luisa works from a neurodiversity-affirming lens that honours difference, supports emotional regulation, and helps clients recognise and build on their own strengths. Their practice is warm, non-judgmental, and genuinely inclusive — welcoming people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and identities, including many who have felt unseen or unsafe in mainstream services. Whether you're navigating identity, relationships, trauma, mental health, or simply looking for a space to be heard, Luisa offers compassionate, affirming support tailored to you.

Luisa understands that every person is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. She integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including hypnotherapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), tailoring each session to meet the individual needs of her clients.

Acknowledgement to Country

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples, the original and continuing custodians of the lands, waters, and skies on which we live, learn, and work. We honour their enduring connection to Country, culture, language, story, kinship, and Law. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. Because of this truth, we commit to walking alongside First Nations peoples—listening deeply, following their leadership, and taking guided action to challenge racism, disrupt injustice, and actively support the fight for Land Back, Treaty, truth-telling, and the full realisation of First Nations rights. From the river to the sea the Indigenous peoples of this land will be free, justice will be restored, and their lands returned.
